2013 Viper, only 200 miles ! Doesn’t need much!

This belongs to the owner of the Porsche we recently did. He just purchased from a collection where I swear they must have used the dirtiest towels they had to wipe it down! I’ll only show a couple before and afters but they represent the entire car! They are also only after cutting with the Griot’s 21 with microfiber pad and fast cut cream. That’s why I use Griot’s! Refined with perfecting cream on a yellow perfecting pad. Finished using Modesta Primer on a Modesta polishing pad. Coated paint and wheels with BC08, windows with dr Beasley products, tires with something new, G tech T1. Thanks for looking!

As always, amazing work; the reflection of the house w/ security sign is especially pleasing.

With regards to Modesta, I see that they note some of their coatings (BC-03, -05 and -06) as hydrophilic, which I (perhaps ignorantly) interpret as more of a ‘sheeter’ as opposed to a ‘beader’. They also have a shampoo/car wash (H-05) that they note as specific for maintaining hydrophilic properties.

Curious if you’ve had any experience with both their ‘water repellant’ coatings (hydrophobic?) as well as their hydrophilic offerings and what, if any, differences you’ve noted with regards to self cleaning. While many seem to prefer the higher water contact angles of the hydrophobic offerings (great beading) is the (to me) counter-intuitive hydrophilic (having a strong affinity for water) property more desirable if self-cleaning is a primary concern? One would think hydrophilic would lessen the chances for water spots due to lessened propensity for beading, which will ultimately dry on the surface.

All of the products I have installed, BC08, BC04 and Paul Dalton, are excellent at self cleaning. The BC08 beads very well, and the BC04 sheets water so rapidly it looks like it beads. After explaining to clients how to dry the car with water, they are amazed! Also the maintenance products help keep the coating working as it should. The wash I’ve never used, it’s not necessary if using a wash that leaves nothing and using the maintenance products.
Thank you!

Sweet mercy! Always fond of the vipers. Have a newer black GTS coming in a couple weeks. Definitely doesn`t help my want for one!

Wow, never a "dull" moment...JK. Unusual color which makes it more desirable. Beautiful result even if there wasn`t much to do. These "not much to do" can be harder than the really bad ones.

As usual, thanks for the great pics. The best detailers get to detail the best cars. You are the epitome of that statement. Hope your "repaired" spine/back is getting (MUCH) better, by the way!!!

This thread is a testament of how much swirling can be induced into a clear coat/paint by improper wash and wiping techniques. I assume it is the clothes or microfibers that were used or just wiping the Viper with a duster (maybe??).

Do all the Modesta coatings require Infra Red light/heat curing? Is this IR system something that Modesta sells or did they recommend it from a third-party supplier?
I know I asked this before , but who is the IR manufacture of the set-up is that you have and WHY or HOW does the IR light/heat cures the coating, IE, what effect it has on the gloss and longevity of the coating. I do not know of other coating manufacturers who "require or suggest" this IR curing as a part & process to using their coating.

You also mentioned some thing about wash techniques or processes used to maintain Modesta coatings. Do you have such a specific car-care chemical(s) ,wash media(s), and drying microfiber(s) with a process and do you inform the owner of the vehicle what it is or sell them a vehicle wash kit so they can wash and maintain the vehicle themselves when it dirty?
