2012 Sonata, 2-step correction and 22ple VX1 Pro Glass Coating

If I'm not using a tripod I'm usually shooting at an f stop of 11 or 9 and even lower

Now we are getting somewhere!

"Most" zooms are inferior to primes to begin with. So if you see really sharp pictures, with the same camera AND lens, look at the efix info - copy that and go from there.

As far as shooting at f11 without a tripod - there is your lack of sharpness, even if your lens have VR IS - why are you not shooting smaller?

Agreed, f/11 is a VERY small setting, usually only necessary in very bright/direct light. I tend to keep the aperture as small as I can and play with the ISO setting to control exposure. Partially because I find I can pick up more detail in close-up shots that way, and partially because I like the the "artsy" effect.

Anyway, that's enough hijacking of the thread -- sorry Chad!

Sorry Charley, you have that backwards. The lower the f stop the better the low light performance.

Yes you will see a big difference

Sounds good, Thanks! I'll try playing around with it one night shooting the same pics with different apertures.

Chad, I must say I'm very impressed with the gloss this coating 22ple VX1 Pro Glass Coating imparts. I guess the "unknown" is how long it really lasts. It does look great!

Thanks for posting.

hey Chad great job!

I have a question for you, maybe its a bit off topic but oh well! I remember seeing an int detail on a truck a while ago, you shampooed the carpets and mentioned buying "dryers" at walmart if my memory is correct.

I want to pick one up, which one did you get? are you satisfied with the purchase ?

Thanks!

Thanks Tom! It does look very good and there are a lot of great new coatings out right now...don't think a person could go wrong with either of them. :)

You're probably referring to this article?

The air movers I have are made by Stanley and were purchased from Ace Hardware. They do work very well for the price. Larger air movers would be more effective but they are pricey too!

Nice job, very wet and glossy. :)

Love that metallic black Hyundai uses, looks like the metallic is in all the layers of paint, has sort of a 3D look to it.
