2012 Kia Soul Opti-Coated

A family member bought this Dune colored Kia Soul new from the dealership and before it was in their hands and I asked if they were interested in having it coated before the elements had a chance to get to it. They drove it for a week and came back and said they wanted me to Opti-Coat it when I had time. After I returned from my day job I spent about 3 hours on this little car.

Steps were as follows:

Wheels, tires and wheel wells cleaned with Megs D103

Wheels dressed with Adam's SVRT

Bugs soaked with Tar-X

Complete soak and wash with Dawn

Wolfs Decon Gel where needed

M205 and HT Tangerine pad on PCXP on the hood to remove some minor marring

Multiple IPA wipedowns

Opticoat on all paint, plastic, lights, trim, badges, wheels etc.

Here it is as it arrived

Plenty of bugs, tar, and unknown contaminants.

And for some reason, when the dealership affixes their badges, they leave a lot of adhesive gunk behind.

Looking good Luke!

Well, ok... looking as good as a Kia Soul can look. I'll leave it at that :nana:

Thanks Charlie... I can only make it shinier, not bigger and better :P

Awesome work! I like those cars. Man, they are everywhere around here.

Until my family member got this, I hadn't noticed them as much, but now, I see them EVERYWHERE.

Nice job, now the Honda Elements can't get to it. :lol

Thanks Scott! I think the heat is getting to you, your humor has been especially punny as of late, lol.

You know its been warm when todays high of 98 felt cool.

I know what you're saying, in Michigan it's 92-99 degrees all week and humid, so the index is 105-110.

Only color they had huh?

LOL, kidding. Looks great!

Yeah, that's exactly the vibe I get. However, it will alway look clean!....or dirty?

Meh, it was 75 in my garage today. Couldn't complain too much :nana:

Leadfootluke- Hey, you did that pretty quickly! It oughta be all set for low-maintenance use now :xyxthumbs

Thanks!

Once the powerwasher gets fixed, I think I can do it touchless

Looks great.. but one quick question... why didn't you remove the dealer's logo from the car while you had the opportunity?

Unfortunately the owner would have NOT liked that. He's that kind of person.
