2012 Infiniti G37. Owner contacted me a few weeks ago, she had some black stuff on her car and not realizing how abrasive a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is, used it to try to get the stuff off her car. After a few areas, she realized it was scuffing up her paint and stopped. She got my name from a customer of mine who works with. She called me to see if not only the scuffing would come out, but light staining from her jeans on the off white seats in her car. I went out, did a couple test areas, scuffing and staining were coming out so we set up an appointment.
The car was ready for me to start on immediately, always like that. Only real issue I ran into was nearly every polish I tried wanted to stick to the paint. Meguiars #105, OHP and OHC, finally got HD Polish to work. Kind of a pain to compound the scuffs, then have to go over with HD Polish to clear out the polish residue to make sure I got all the scuffing. But the interior was so easy it made up for the extra time I had to spend on the outside. The black stuff on her car turned out to be adhesive from the plastic that was on the car when shipped, tell tale signs on the roof where the edge was clearly visible in several areas where adhesive was left behind. For the last several months, that adhesive left behind has been catching anything floating through the air and reducing the clarity of the finish. Only other snag was the tree it was parked under was dropping a little sap, so after polishing it definitely needed washing again even without any dusting issues.
ONR wash, Opti-Raser pink (mild) to clay
Optimum Hyper Compound using an Optimum microfiber cutting pad and my Meguiars G110 v2 on the scuffing (OHC left the least amount of residue)
3D HD Polish on the whole car, using an Optimum microfiber polishing pad and my G11 v2
ONR Wash and Wax to remove light sap accumulation.
Collinite 476 Paste Wax
ONR W&W cut 32:1 to clean glass
Armor All on tires/fenderwells
Woolite/water diluted 20:1 to clean leather and vinyl
3D Carpet Shampoo diluted 16:1 to clean carpets
Meguiars Interior QD to dress vinyl
Duragloss #221 Leather Conditioner to dress the leather
