2011 Camaro SS convertible correction

Wondering if any of you have used Griot’s machine polishes? I want something finer than FI2 and am hoping their polish #3 is just that. Also will their 6� pads work with CMA’s backing plate? I’m assuming they will since it’s the same size and looks to be a hook n’ loop Velcro pad but thought I’d ask.

I use the Griot's pads and they fit perfectly and securely (sp?) to the CMA backing plate. As for the polishes...I am going to purchase some in the near future. With the drought we are having...I have not ordered any of this season's products I have planned yet. :(
 
I have the PC buffer and use the griots polish. I hait how it goes on. It crusts on with hard removal.

polish does go on easier then best of show wax.

The wax application/removal was horrible

I have to agree to that. Those bonnets are terrible. Wish I had not bought them last year. Otherwise, I am very happy with everything else I have purchased there.



Just ordered some #3 polish, wax and speedshine today...had to reward myself. ;) Need to get a few more things though. Next week. Still in a drought here...so I am in really no rush.

I live just down the road from Griot's and I've stopped by and checked out the facility. I have to say that the products they sell are small in quantitiy and they are very expensive. May I suggest that you give the 3M Perfect-IT III line a try? The SMR for both dark and light colored paint is very good, and cleans well.
 
Hey guys, had my first 5th gen Camaro convertible come in recently. After years of waiting for the new camaro and then the convertible, it was awesome to finally check it out in person. Hard to beat 93 million miles of headroom and a rumbling V8. This was sold and owner noticed it had a lot of scratches on it, so they brought it back and had me come out to do some much needed correction on it.

With less than 400 miles on it, I was anticipating it being a bit cleaner upon arrival, but it just wasn't meant to be.... After an ONR wash and claybar it was time for the correction. It got spot correction with M105 LC cyan pad, then the rest of the car got M205 LC tangerine pad. Polishing oils were removed with an IPA wipedown. Sealant choice was Blackfire Wet Diamond. While not a full correction, it came out very nicely and the owner was pleased and drove away with a smile.

Nice work! As many times as I see this stuff, I still can't get it through my head that dealers would send out new vehicles in such lousy condition and that people would actually purchase them in such a condition.

I think, after years of being around Car Dealerships, car lots, and the like:

The lighting in these places is just enough to allow one to see the vehicle, but not strong enough to allow you to see the defects, pre-sale and post-sale.

A lot of these transactions take place in the late afternoon/evening, so the vehicle is outside and the type of lighting there is also not good enough to pick up the defects.

The Client is so excited to get in and drive their new vehicle, most things like the Details are quickly forgotten.

Once the Dealer has your $$$, you are now at the level of the red-headed-stepchild, etc.. :):):) J/K :)
