2010 ZR1 and Grand Sport starting life the right way

Like the chains are gonna stop anyone from stealing the wheels. If they want them, kiss them goodbye. That's what insurance is for.

Reminds me of when I used to sell car audio and alarms. Would get this customer in who had his car stolen with the alarm installed and armed. When the guy got back to his car, it was gone. But the alarm module was sitting in the street where his car was parked.

This happened several times over the years. I can imagine a thief stealing the wheels or the whole truck but leaving the chains behind as a momento.

I agree with bret, if a thief wants them bad enough, they are gone. The chains are kind of stupid, with a pair of bolt cutters you can get rid of that chain in less than 30 seconds.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Why in the hell would you spend mega $$$ on rims, and then let a metal chain hit against them? Not to smart if you ask me. :down

Here's one more. The son of the owner loved to boss me and the other guys around, especially when we were working on motorcycles (assembling new ones and running the valves were my main duties in the shop.)

He had this big orange Chevy 4wd pickup with huge tires and mag wheels. It was his pride and joy. He also had several other cars and a tremendous ego. He started parking his truck in the locked area of our lot after somebody tried to steal something off his truck (can't remember what it was now...) One night he left his truck overnight in the locked area and I was the first one there the next morning, shortly followed by the head mechanic. I couldn't help laughing out loud as there was his truck on 4 jackstands (left by the thieves...) No tires or wheels to be seen! When he got there he was, shall I say, pissed!

His dad then decided to give him an early birthday present and asked me to go pick up the new tires and wheels that he just ordered at the tire store . Told me to tell his son I had to take some motorcycle tires to the tire store for some reason or another so he wouldn't get suspicious. Well, the son told me that under no circumstances should I go anywhere - he wanted me to do something else. I went back and for between having his dad tell me to go and the son tell me to stay. Finally I just went back into the shop and worked on a bike. The dad came back and screamed at me for awhile, right in front of the son. I just said "I guess you'll have to pick up the wheels yourself." This made him really mad, and his son asked me why I wouldn't do what his dad wanted me to. I told him I tried but you wouldn't let me. This did not seem to phase him, as if it was perfectly logical for them to ask me to do mutally exclusive things and wonder why I wasn't doing both of them.

I know this sounds crazy but this is how it went down. His dad went and got the wheels himself, made me put them on the truck, and then screamed at me some more for ruining the surprise.

I feel sorry for anybody who has to work for jerks. I liked the job OK but I could only handle so much abuse. When I started college those days were over.

First of all, I would NEVER put those kinda wheels on an SUV. There are tons of MAVs (Mormon Assault Vehichles, Suburbans) where I live. 80% of them are moms. They lift them, and put those kinda wheels on.

That person is begging for someone to steal those wheels.

Locking lugs are a JOKE, all I'm gonna do is get a few spark plug sockets, whack em on with a hammer and steal his wheels. I'll get them whether he wants to use a little dental floss chain or not.

I love the dog BigBoy!! Is he/she yours? The breed looks unfamiliar to me but I would guess a Choc. Lab/Rottweiler(sp?) mix.

Dave....she's a 3 week old pure Red/tan Doberman. The breeder has been sending me pictures every week until I can go see her after her first Parvo shot at 6 weeks. She will come home with me when she is a bit over 8 weeks (early January) and has had her ears cropped. I lost a 12 year old Black/tan Dobe last April and the yard is so empty, I thought it was time to make a home for another....

They all look pretty similar at that age...Dobe's, Rott's, Dachsund's...

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss bigboy. My last dog passed in March of '00, and we got my new one in May of '00. I thought that it was a little too soon personally, but my mom was so upset about it. The reason I thought the dog was a mix is because I have never seen a Doberman. Around here, Retrievers (Golden and Lab) are mostly what I see. In fact, I have a Golden myself, it's our second one and I don't think I could ever own a different breed of dog!! Although, I really do like St.Bernards...Anyways, do you have a name yet? Also, my current dog (Riley) is my first puppy, man what a lot of work!! I don't know how or if you house-trained your last dog but crate training is definitely the way to go, that is if the dog is living inside. Apparently, S.Florida doesn't feel the effects of "winter" or get cold. Actually, the weather in Boston is beautiful right now so I can't complain, yet! ;) Best of luck to you!!
