2010 VW GTI vs. Snow Blower

Well my car had a small encounter with my neighbors snowblower. He damaged my driver side just behind the door. I didn't point it out to him at the time because he was doing me a favor by doing it in the first place and he is a nice guy.

So anyway. I have a small dent which I know can be removed through PDR and a scratch that goes through the paint. I have attached a picture and I am curious what would you do? I remember about a year ago there was a thread about someone who "air brushed" a scratch on an Infiniti G37 coupe; it was grey.

Can anyone tell me more about this air brushing? I tried to search but I didn't find it.

Thanks

Hello fellow GTI owner, I have a 2008 - Black Magic Metalic. For your issue, I'd do some research on bodyshops in your area. I'm lucky that I have friends in the biz . It's not always the biggest or fancy places that do the best. Check the local car dealers - ask who they would take their car to, when you start hearing the same place a couple times, visit and talk to the owner, get a feel for the place - did they seem like they were knowledgable, interested in earning your business? If they seem to pass the smell test, you'll probably have to wait - but a small job like that - they may work you in. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I was kind of wondering more in particular about the air brushing I read about in that thread on this forum. I haven't had any luck finding it and I remember the car vividly. It was an Infiniti G37 coupe in grey.

Yes, the dent can definately be worked out, but if you go the conventional repair route having a body shop repair the quarter, they're more than likely going to be blending the door as well. Air Brushing & touching up can be done, but it really depends on how picky your standards are because it's usually a very detectable repair. Avoid having a mobile paint repair guy do this repair as they typically use inferior methods and products and can make your car look worse.

The thread I saw on here showing the airbrush job was barely detectable. I do not expect it will be 100% perfect just less noticeable than bare primer or metal.
