I was contacted by a woman on Facebook who had seen this writeup http://www.autopiaforums.com/forums/detailers-showcase/43723-07-pontiac-g6-paint-correction.html and wanted something similar for her car. She also expressed interest in having a coating applied, so after several messages back and forth going over our different options, she decided on the VIP Package :rockon My best friend let me use his shop for a couple days since it was close to where she lived, because I knew this wasn't something that was going to be accomplished in a matter of hours.

I started with the trunk area, then moved on to the interior. Thankfully neither was too bad, and just needed a good going over. A combination of the Mytee Firebird steamer, 3D Orange, HD Touch, HD Glass, and Megs Hyper Dressing was used to accomplish this. The carpet was cleaned using a DA brush on the GG6 polisher, and the seats were cleaned using the rotary and wool method.

Using the Flex Swirl Finder light to inspect my work

Seats, carpet, and headliner was given 2 coats of HD Fabric Protector

Wash - HD Wash 2 bucket method, 1Z Colortec, 3D Orange, IronX, Medium Grade Speedy Prep Towel, Microfiber Madness Dry Me Crazy drying towel
Once the car was clean and decontaminated, the true condition of the car was exposed.

After trying a few different combos, HD Adapt and purple foamed wool pads on the rotary seemed to be giving me the best cut and finish. I knew this was going to be at least a 2 step correction no matter what, so the slight swirls left from the foamed wool was ok since I was going to be doing another polishing step.
Even with the foamed wool pads on the rotary, the swirls left from Adapt are so slight that I could barely photograph them.
