Hi all,



I'm searching for a wax to go on top of my AIO/SG layers. One of my requirements is that the wax not stain molding or trim. Could those of you who use Pinnacle (whether Souveran or Paste Glaz) tell me if it stains black trim?

rubber trim. Its so fun to use.



As for the color, Paste Glaz for lighter colors and if you can cough it up Souveran for all colors.



Sure Souveran is recommended for darker colored cars, but I find it works well on lighter color cars.

I am using Souveran on my white and silver cars and it's terrific and I have had no problesm with black molding. Once I have used this up I am going to try Paste Glaze, although it's hard to imagine it will work better.
 
I noticed that the wax was very soft in one area and was going on the foam pad in small chunks. I now have my Souveran in the freezer to see if this will help. I hope I don't mistake it with the ice cream..... :eek:

Thanks to all for your replies. My car is silver, but I am leaning towards giving the Souveran a try. (I'll just eat ramen noodles for lunch every day.) :)



Jason--I'd like to thank you for encouraging me to detail my own car. Earlier this summer, I e-mailed you asking about detailing my car. Based on both your advice and this board, I switched to Klasse products and am very happy with the results. All that's left is for me to get the Klasse to bead water like the Blitz I once used. I'm hoping the Pinnacle will make the shine and gloss even better.

My Souveran is not hard or soft. Its like a paste. I rub the applicator across the top of the wax and it goes on like melted butter. No chunks, just nice wax.



A bad batch??? or improper storage conditions. I keep mine next to my TV without cable, I know I am soooo abusive.
 
I guess dropping it didn't help it any :( But even in its slightly compromised condition, the Souveran over the Klasse is really great. I just picked up a can of Blitz and will give that a shot in a couple of weeks when the Souveran is evaporated. BTW the Souveran beads water like no other wax that I've ever used!!

Cool, I think you'll like the Blitz. Much more durable than Souveran.



After a week, you'll be tempted to re-Blitz, or re-Souveran.



Play around with the layering of carnaubas.

The people who posted before I did are correct. The Pinnacle waxes are awesome and they don't leave white residue on rubber trim or black plastic. For silver, I would tend to think that the Pinnacle Paste Glaze would be a better buy for you. I have a silver car and both Pinnacle waxes. Kind of hard to tell the difference between the $70 Souveran and the $35 Paste Glaze on silver. If you're going to use the Souveran on other cars as well, then I suppose that Souveran would be a good buy then. Laters.

Leadfootluke: I saw a new Ferrari F430 Spider, at a local "Cars and Coffee" a couple of months ago... brand new car in black, picked up the day before the get together. The car was just about covered in buffer trails, holograms all over the place.
The owner was so proud of his car, I didn't have the nerve to mentioned it had been buffed by some "45 minute wonder" (as in... "I can knock this out in 45 minutes") back at the dealer's shop.

It's amazing, the condition a "new" car leave some dealerships in.:wink:
