2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 Roadster by RCD and Auto Concierge

2008 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster Restoration by Richie's Custom Detailing and Auto Concierge.

I flew Bob out to work with me on a few cars. The day before he was scheduled to leave I got the call to restore the appearance on this 2008 Murcielago LP 640 Roadster.

So I changed Bob's ticket and extended his stay.

Bob was very instrumental in getting this car done as it was going to be shipped out of state and the deadline was tight.

Total time spent 60+ hours collectively.

Upon initial inspection it was easy to see how severely this car had been savaged.

Front end and rockers were wrapped as well.

As it was delivered.

Richie and Bob,

Great work guys. That car was in horrible shape. It was nice to meet both of you gentleman a few weeks back.

Great work guys. It must be nice to bring Bob in to help, as you'll never need to recheck his work. Two top notch detailers you both are!

Away put your weapon, I mean you no harm. LOL

Someone obviously has more money than sense to let a gorgeous car like that get neglected so badly. I bet they didn't even garage it.

Nice job turning a 2008 that looked like a 1998 into the jewel it truly is.

I can only hope to be as good as you two are. My dream is to be able to look at any car, any condition and know I can make it look brand new again.

Easy........Bing and I are just normal guys, once you figure out what steps are needed that is half the battle, as the other half is staying with the project when you are bone tired and also knowing what can be corrected and what to leave alone so you are not twanged with a re-spray or some other costly repair(Which on this Lambo will start @ 1,500.00 USD and go up sharply from there).

Getting into paint correction now as a new detailer is easier and harder.........there is more information now(With sites like this) but the finishes are sometimes finnicky and it takes unsual combos of techniques and products to get the finish right......as opposed to "Right now".

To any new guy wishing to get good at correction, get a scrap panel and PRACTICE continually as experience is the teacher and will get you the confidence that you need to be able to see a car and almost do the entire detail in your head in 30 seconds(Steps needed usually) also you will need all the gear which will be costly I know and it will take time if funds do not allow(I still need stuff I cannot just go buy when I want) at least now with DA polishing a high level of correction is possible without the big risk rotary wool correction poses, but to get through nasty defects nothing beats a DeWalt and a black wool twisted pad and aggressive compound.

As of now I can do most basic details. Some high-speed buffing and claying. As I finish each detail I will be taking a percentage of my profit and putting back for new tools, material or whatever I need.

I'm gonna start practicing on my mustang. It needs to be repainted, but there are some areas that I can practice on and see a difference. It's a track car so looks aren't that important to me just yet.

As of right now I'm trying to negoitiate a deal with a car club to be their personal detailer. If I can land this deal it will be a matter of time and I will be able to purchase a bunch of tools I will need to become a great detailer.

Gonna keep reading through your threads and take note of the steps you use and hopefully I can learn from that as well.

You two should be commended for bringing that Lambo away from slaughter...

What did the previous owner wash it with... a Brillo pad?

I'm so glad you guys took your aggression out on that beautiful Italian instead of another one.....:yield:

Great work! This must have been a fun chore. Too bad Bob couldn't have enjoyed himself with a little more R & R time while in FL. Instead Richie put him to good use. Car looks fantastic. Thanks for posting this. It was also a real pleasure to finally meet you guys in person! Thanks again for everything.
