2008 Ferrari 599 GTB... spit-shined

I read your whole process but I guess I fail to understand the whole "spit shine" idea of what you're doing with the car?

Are you just rubbing the wax in till it's gone? or are you actually spitting on the pad?

Please clearify

Actually Bence did a great job of explaining it here http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing/68548-spit-shine-425-a.html#post691321 No, I don't "spit" on the pad I use distilled water. Spit shining is only a term for the process itself.

wow i haven't seen a spit shine like that since the boot monkey on victory drive at fort benning! good ole vd drive. apollo i don't think anyone here can uterly realize what it takes to have that kinda of patience. ok now im impressed some more. im thinking what i can do to top this technique and some of todd helme's. anyway outstanding. ill bet you were standing tall on that one! by the way i liked that orange hat! great work man!

Thanks Barry! This job really got me reminiscing about my old army days :D

Great work Apollo! Top notch on a gorgeous Ferrari. I loved this picture, so I tried to correct the white balance and smooth it out a little. Plan on me copying this shot from now on!

Very nice work, and a beautiful car too. I loved the engine shots.

Yeah, I remember the spit shining boots days at Ft. Sill, OK. Some guys got it, some guys didn't.

Thanks buddy! I remember a guy out at Sill that was out-processing while I was in-processing taught me... I got hooked after seeing his boots! I did basic training there... from June to August... hot as hell!

Great work! I love that color.

Thanks Ryan! While I was at the Ferrari dealership today sorting out an abused 16M Scuderia, I found out that the owner paid an extra $15,000 for that paint job! WOW! And they burned the hell out of it and left it with some serious swirls... I think the burns came from the cowboys in Hungary trying to correct the cowboys' work from Italy.

You have my blessing to do so, sir! :)

Beautiful write-up and a beautiful car. You do some really great work and the reflection is tremendous. What kind of backing plate and pads are you using, especially on the smaller panels?I'm currently using the Edge products, but looking at testing something different.
