2008 Chevrolet Suburban detail

I just did family's new ride a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban LT 4x4 today and yesterday. This is to protect the paint for the upcoming winter months in central Illinois. It is a ruby red metallic paint with running boards. I go t done late so no pics yet. Taking the pics tomorrow.

This was my first really big detail and looking forward to reading all the comments on my detail. My parents are quite pleased with the results in my work on the suburban. As I have taken the role as the family detailer of the many cars and one suv in the family.
 
First, congrats on beginning your detailing journery. Seond, if you have pictures, that would be great. And lastly, that was a beast of a detail. I have a 99 Burban and it about kills me everytime I do a full exterior detail.

i will take pictures of the suburban after work. The Griot's paint sealant is for new rides or freshly painted cars as it a year long wax product. Plus it saves time having to wax the suburban every 3 months or so.

I hate to seem critical but this is another example of a dirty car getting cleaned but not really detailed.

I don't see any good before and after shots. You can see areas that were missed. The paint doesn't stand out to me.

I want to be able to say great work but I just can't I'm sorry.

I know if some of you could you would throw eggs at me for being critical but I'm just calling it like I see it.

Some pointers-

Take some before pics and make sure they aren't closer than your afters.

Make sure the tires are dressed uniformly and not splotchy. They don't have to be shiny to look good, just evenly dressed.

If that's bug damage make sure you explain that or it just looks like you are sloppy.

Could be the camera or the angles but the paint looks like it needs a good polishing to make it come alive.

Make sure you take a little time to treat the trim too. If you had those running boards well cleaned and dressed it would definitely make it look better.

I'm gonna end on a positive note. The wheels look very good in your pics. Very clean and bright.:bigups

i kinda had to finish washing the day i was taking the pics( since it was cold out i could not have time to really clean the bugs off) i will have to clay the front end and the side mirrors.
 
While I won't rehash everything that has been said, on the flip side of the coin kudos to you for being someone who enjoys punishment. :) Cleaning up a land barge by hand does take some determination.

On the bright side, at least your family and others can afford to put gas in a Suburban for a while - until next summer probably. :D
