I have a better question: why would you buy that camera if you *aren't* going to use the auto modes? That's where all the R&D money goes!

Like I said, if you want creative control over things such as aperture and depth of field, use the aperture priority mode. Using a full manual mode for exposure doesn't make any sense at all, unless you are going to the extreme of using an external light meter, which I seriously doubt you are doing.

I get the impression that you are new to photography and digital cameras. I am just trying to help you out (photography has only been my hobby for more than 25 years) but if you are just going to be stuck in your ways and make comments like "lol" to my suggestions, I will politely bow out.

Anyway, keep up the great work on the detailing.

I'm not hating on anything your saying but when I first got the camera and would try using the FULL Auto and compare that to my pictures now, there is a huge difference. I have been playing around with the Aperture mode as well but I'm just always on either M or P.

Cool. The one thing that you are doing that is definitely right is exactly what you said: "I have been playing around with....". There is no substitute for experience in photography. The more you "play" with the camera the more you will learn and become increasingly familiar with how to use it to get the most out of it you can. :2thumbs:

Todd,

Now WHEN are you going to do a yellow 'vette for me??? This is a really "wow" example, isn't it??.......And, one that's using all the products you & I talked endlessly about......Optimum Opti-Seal, ONR, the Blackfire sealant you like.....and I even picked up the CG EZ Glaze just a week or so ago from Greg at Detailed Image. Now, can't wait to get at mine......it sits "dusty" in the garage awaiting warm weather. UGH.........

Look forward to more of your outstanding Corvette work, too.......just make the next one a beautiful YELLOW one!! :D

Happy Holidays to you and your family.

See ya. :wavey

DJ...I appreciate you throwing in the MJ-gloved special shots just for me pal!

The car looks great, and it's awesome to have a relationship like that with your customers. Knowing you the way I do though, it's no surprise that you've built that kind of trust.

Keep up the great work buddy.
