Hello everyone, I spend about 20 hours perfecting this 2007 daily driven Toyota Tundra. He doesn't live in the city but the "Driven To Perform" car show is coming to our fair city tomorrow and the owner wanted the vehicle detailed properly. He's had it many other places (you could tell by the buffer trails!:faint
. He also wanted the tail lights tinted.
So, as far as process goes, the interior was thoroughly shampooed and all surfaces were treated with 303 protectant and Lexol on the leather.
Engine bay was a real nightmare to work on. Lots of hoses and bug guts on the many coolers and fans. Tweesers for some and then compressed air for others. A couple different brushes and cloths were used as well as Dress It Right water based dressing.
Exterior was the major whore on this job. Lots of glaze covering up defects and such, so I spent about 10 hours on the paint alone. I also painted and details the undercarriage.
Process for the exterior:
IP via cutting pad at 1500 RPM
Summit Micro Polish at 1800 RPM
Ultrafina at 2000RPM
Souveran x2 on rims and paint
Tail lights have 2 coats of niteshades and 3 coats of clear, where the 3rd brake light has 3 coats of niteshades blended so the reverse and brake lights are still full brightness. Turned out pretty nice and didnt require wetsanding.
Here are the pcitures.
