2007 Subaru WRX STi Opti-Coated

This vehicle actually belongs to a long-time friend of mine, and it is an absolute monster. It's my favorite body style of STi's as well, the 06 and 07's. When he contacted me I was originally just going to do a quick clean-up on it...then when I saw the car I knew it needed some love. As all of you know, Subaru paint is a real pain, and this car was no different. It was sticky as all hell, but it cleaned up nicely being one-stepped with Sonax Nano Polish 3/6 on a tangerine Hydrotech with my Rupes 15. I had to remove the polish residue using ONR so that I didn't end up marring the surface I had just polished. After that I wiped down with IPA and applied Opti-Coat. The car has brutal summers in a shore town and the Opti-Coat kept it protected and looking good.

I don't have many pictures as I didn't have a ton of time(or sunlight for that matter) to turn the car around.

Enjoy!

Nice job, looks great!

One good thing (the only good thing I might add) about Subie paint is its easy to correct...if the polish wipes off, that is.

Very true, definitely had to utilize ONR to get the polish off of this one. Very stubborn when it came to removal.
