2007 Porsche GT3 track car driven hard, rinsed off and put away wet.

As I was browsing thru the projects that we did this year, I came across this Porsche GT3 RS that is owned by one of the Van Halen brothers that I thought I would share......

This is one of his track cars, that was driven hard that day on the track. Dust and dirt was everywhere, and to top it off it was rinsed off with recycled water and left to dry......

The vehicle was in harsh shape and needed moderate paint correction.

What was done -

- Wheels were prepped with Meguiar's Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner and cleaned up with various brushes

- Tires were spritzed down and scrubbed with Meguiar's #39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner washed down

- Wheel wells were spritzed down and scrubbed with Meguiar's APC+ and washed down

- Wash down and rinsed

- Door jambs were cleaned up

- Clayed

- Dried

- Wheel wells were treated with Stoner Trim Shine

- Paint inspected and measured

- Wheels protected with Meguiar's #21

- Tires dressed with Stoner's Trim Shine

- 2 Step Paint correction ( Meguiar's M83 & M80)

Great job. Is it the light or just the car but that paint doesn't look shiny shiny. I don't mean to be an azz. Could just be the lighting. Is the paint just gone?

Thanks........Little of everything, car was extremely pitted from the track, and inside lighting was not all that. But considering that this is literally a beat me up track racer we did what we could...and it came out awesome!

I think it came out great! The lighting is poor, but if you look close enough you can tell the paint has a nice gloss.

Looks good - great looking car, too.

Are there any restrictions on using wheel cleaners on carbon ceramic brakes? I remember hearing that you should try to stay away from anything other than car soap.

Great looking car, even better after you finished. Even in the bad lighting the paint has a nice richness to it. :up

Good job on the car! In one of the pictures i see a lot of holograms or buffer trails on the front bonnet. Was that a part of your defect removal process? Or was it created by someone else?

I wish I could afford a GT3... damn...

What you see in the photo is the product that was applied #M80 with the D/A that still has yet to be removed. Believe me when your detailing Alex Van Halen's GT3 RS you cant leave swirls!

I wish I had one also!! or even a GT 2 - The widow maker!
