2007 Monaco Blue BMW X3

Some people need to get off of your case, you did a great job and charged a fair amount in my opinion. The before and after pics prove just how horrible condition the vehicle was in.

If Wheel Brightener is not used correctly, then yes it can be very dangerous. Personally, I have been using WB for the past two years. It has come in contact with my mouth, skin, and eyes and I am perfectly fine. As long as you don't go and pour the stuff on yourself you will be absolutely fine.

Again, good job on the detail.

reviving old thread i just came across.

#2- I have been detailing for 5 years +, have learned thing you can only learn with experience, have been lugging a rotory for almost 3, yet I would not dare charge a customer $200 for washing and waxing a car and giving the interior a vac and wipe. I'd feel guilty. I love our craft, but I definately enjoy giving the customer a good feeling of what they're getting. The max I would feel comfortable upcharging for a job like that is $135 max, and I would include claying.

first off, this is my wife's X3.

the price was fair IMO. Martin and i discussed pricing before he began. i knew exactly what i was getting. as he points out below in a reply, he has to travel a ways to get to where i am.

even with no correction, i think the price is fair for the quality of work that he does.

In response...

I took the the photos "Before" and "After". Before happened to be around 3PM and after happened to be around 7PM. If I "said" I polished the vehicle with these photos, that would bring a problem. I stated I did no correcting at all, honesty is all we have :secret

To travel 30 miles each way and complete this job it was well worth $200. My rate is $45-50/hr. I keep it a FLAT rate, it works out much better for everyone that way.

thanks again, Martin.

cool.

4 rings FTMFW!

hope this R8 is one you can detail again (i.e. does not crash and get totaled by the owner....)

Hey Martin, I have customers like sg also that are about 35-50 miles away. I still detail for them but I'm not sure how to include my driving time and gas into there. Can you PM me how you did it, whether it's from leaving your house to charging for the work + Gas...? Etc. Nevertheless, great job on the car, 4 hours is about right for an SUV, if that's including driving then that's incredible.

Nice job on the X3.... I did one of those not too long ago that looked almost as bad.

What is it with those brake pads they

yeah, i know the X3 was looking bad. i had a legitimate excuse....well, sort of. LOL

oem bmw brake pads are the svck. i switched out to low dust pads on my M3. but a big brake kit is on the way and i might just run a similarly low dust pad.
