this is a 2007 chevy express cube van. over the next few weeks ill be detailing it and trying to take it from its tattered, smelly, greasy shape and transform it into a clean, shiny, detailed workhorse.

this truck has been driven 10 hours a day 5 days a week since we bought it new in 2007.
each of those days it was driven by a guy who smoked in it. He would smoke with the windows down, the windows up and used the ash tray regardless of window position.

We bought him a new van for this year, but no one else can stand the horrible stench that was coming from the interior of this van.

I have spent 10 hours to get it to this point.

Products Used:
Woolite (10:1)
Meguiars APC+ (4:1)
Simple Green (1:1) for the floor
Microtex Microfibers
VapAmore mr100
Bissell Little Green Proheat
MR Clean Magic Eraser
Various boars hair brushes

anyways, on to the pictures

What do you think?

Good job on it. I spend my winters at a dealership that deals in nothing but commercial vehicles. I've probably detailed 500 of these, so Ill be the first to say that its no easy task. Way to do it right and pull the seats btw :bigups

Thanks, this isnt my first rodeo either lol. Ive been cleaning up these van up since i was like 10 years old. Not nearly as thorough however, but cleaning it nonetheless.

Looks great! Awesome job. I know it is alot of work

thanks!

Very nice job. How do you like that Bissell steam cleaner/vac?

Its a pretty good little tool. The version i have has the heater and power on the same switch, so you have to allow it to run for about 10 minutes or so before the heater has any effect. All in all id give it a 6 out of 10.

Thats the 4th time i went over the seats

We finally had some weather that was above freezing, so I decided to finally get the road grime off this monster

I used Meguiars Gold Class For the foaming and washing

Before

Foamed

After

But did you get the smell out ???

Very nice hard, hard, work there....

I have found that you have to Steam/Meguiars APC+ Extract Every Square Inch of a smoker vehicle to effectively get it better, and then it may still smell..

The object is to remove all traces of nicotine that are stuck to every part of the vehicle - sometimes as you have found out, more than once...

This is why I spend a small amount of $$$ acquiring only white cotton towels for cleaning Interiors, so I can get a visual of how Im doing and when/if I am done, because the towel stays white...

Thanks for the extreme makeover you did and all the hard work it took for this and the write up and pics !!

The smell is completely gone. Ive driven it a few time since its been cleaned and the smell is non existant.

Thanks for the tip on the white towels. I use lime green, yellow, and orange... theyre extremely easy to see the dirt
