Today I did my 2006 Volkswagen Jetta GLI yesterday and finished it up today.

I haven't had time to do my car since I got my Porter Cable over 2 weeks ago so I was very excited and obviously took my time doing this car.

I had an accident a week ago trying to polish my car leaving light holograms however Menzerna's Finishing Touch Glaze with a grey LC pad removed them.

Today I did the Honda Pilot. I noticed Stoner's Trim Shine is really starting to cost me a lot, what else can I use on the trim to restore the black, even coat without costing me $5/can! It only lasts on about 2 cars too... The Pilot was new but the owner wanted a layer of protection on their new car. I was also able to make the interior like new again since it wasn't too bad to start off with.

They gave me this Lexus leather cleaner/conditioner to use. I :LOLOL 'd that they gave it to me but I gladly used it. It seemed very nice, does anyone know if this is a rebottled version of something? :nervous2:

Questions

I ordered Poorboy's SSR 1 & 2, will this be sufficient for my car (the red GLI)? What pads/speeds?

What can I use besides Stoner's Trim Shine? It is starting to eat into my profits @ $5/can when it only lasts for 2 cars if I'm lucky.

Anyone know anything about that Lexus Leather Cleaner/Conditioner? Rebottled?

I use Mother's Back to Black and Zaino Z-16 perfect tire gloss on exterior trim. Mother's is about $5.99 a bottle, but I did an entire F-150 including all the trim around the bed and didn't make a dent in the bottle. Z-16 goes a long way too. You can give those a shot. Z-16 is $12.99 for 16 oz. but it's quite thin and a little goes a long way.

Does that Lexus leather conditioner seem anything like Meguiar's? I'd also like to know if it is a rebadged product.

edit: Nice GLI by the way, I like those cars in red especially. Tinted windows would really set it off IMO.

nice looking gli.. I really doubt a pc with a gray finishing pad and menzerna glaze could have knocked out those holograms/swirls though. If anything it probably hid them. I would have thought you needed something a lil more agressive

Chemical Guy's Liquid Extreme Shine is my favorite trim product - it's 26 dollars for a gallon that will last you 2-3 years (I got a full summer out of a gallon doing 4 details per week). It lasts a long time too. The easiest way to apply is with a spray bottle in one hand and a terry rag in the other - just spray and rub it in well.

?????????????:nixweiss :waxing:

I 2nd the back to black. I have actually found it at Wal-Mart a few times on clearance, and it seems to go the distance for me as well.

Anything will last longer than Trim Shine but nothing else is as easy to use IMO. 303 and Armor All will work as alternatives.
