A very good client brought in this beauty for a lot of work, and it needed it. After being in the local Morgan Service Center (read: in a barn up a 2 mile dirt road....not kidding) for a few months getting some repairs and replacement parts it was looking pretty rough. This car was ordered in 1999 and was completed in 2003. They got as far as prepping it for shipping before things went horribly wrong....the forklift driver impaled the car dead center. Yep, you read that right. So Morgan took it back, repaired all the damage and re-bodied the car and delivered it 2 years later. So for a client who waited 6 years for his car, I was going to give it the full white glove treatment.
Arrived. Doesn't look to bad right? Well stay tuned....
The headlight had to be replaced, and it came with a courtesy wipedown....that wasn't so courteous
All sorts of deep pigtail scratches on the large fenders
Up in the air and the wheels off
Half the wheel cleaned, and half the tire stripped. Suppose you could call that a 50/50... They would look much nicer when done.
It had less than stellar detailing in its past
Taking some readings on paint thickness.
Just a quick compounding 50/50 as I dialed in the exact combo to yield the best results on this very very soft paint.
Some direct light on the headlight replacement wipedown. Not good.
