Here are a few shots of my car taken this afternoon at my baby shower. Nothing fancy. I just wanted a clean-looking car to take some gifts home in. :-p

- Meguiar's Deep Crystal Car Wash
- Four Star UPP (x3)
- Eagle One All Wheel & Tire Cleaner
- Meguiar's High Gloss Hot Shine Tire Spray
- Stoner Invisible Glass

This car has more orange peel than the peel of an orange. Honda should recall these cars, but we know that's never going to happen. Cheers!

Yeah UPP can really bring out the paint job. Good or " bad " . great photo's .
Photography must also be a hobby of yours ..

Congradulations on your baby

Nice.

Orange peel looks to be a "standard feature" on most new cars. I guess kinda like the textured walls in houses.

Is that a Gitzo I see in the reflections? Nice shots.

Awesome Flake Pop in those pics!! You can even see it from afar in the pics. really wet too. Great job!

Nice camera...(drool) are you a Canon man?

oh, and nice job on the car too...the camera just sort of took my attention

Thanks for the compliments, folks. I truly appreciate it.

My camera is a Fujifilm S5100 (4.0MP), which I purchased a few months ago. I have no experience taking pictures but do have an interest in learning. I'm hoping to have the hang of it within the next year or two.

Anyway, orange peel does seem to be the norm with new cars these days. My wife's 530i has a noticeable amount of it as well. I can still recall the first Nissan Altima that was released a while back and that car had a pretty amazing finish for a factory job. What happened? Shouldn't the paint process used by manufacturers be getting better with time? Oh well.

I'll be ordering some pads and backing plates for my PC 7336 at the end of the month. My plan will be to strip the paint down, clay, polish with SSR 2.5 and SSR 1, UPP (3x or 4x), and spit shine some Natty's Blue (2x). I have the products but lack the required pads considering I just purchased my PC a few days ago. In the meantime, I'll be scouting for some nice scenery to use for my next photo session.

Cheers!

x/s: On a side note, my wife informed me that the guests at our baby shower found it strange that I was snapping more pictures of my car as opposed to the people at the party. :)

No, sir. It's just one of those generic tripods you see everyone selling on ebay. :)

I would say you're well on your way to becoming a great photographer . That hood shot is brochure quality ..

How about some BMW pics next?

Thanks. I appreciate the compliment. I was a web designer/developer in the mid-90s up until the dot com bubble busted in late-2000. Photography and design go hand in hand, but I was never brave enough to venture into the camera world until recently.

As soon as I order and receive the pads and backing plates that I need, I'll be sure to share some pics of the BMW as well. A rather depressing incident took place on our way home from the party hall that afternoon. My wife tried to maneuver her way from a sidewalk curb just before the transition into the party hall's driveway. She scraped the lower front passenger side chin spoiler onto the curb. The scratches are deep and I doubt any amount of rubbing or polishing will remedy the problem. I think this is the karma that accompanies my recent -$1.00 PC7336 purchase. :(
