I have been talking with Steve from Tropi-care, a sponser on my GTO forum, about doing a review and posting it on here for awhile. So I stripped down everything that was on my car previously and started to detail it. Some set backs, including a week of rain (so I couldn't check for holograming in the sun), the birth of a close friend's son, and my camera deciding to not work, pushed back this post two weeks. So on with the show:
Process:
Washed with TC-6 Premium Car Wash. Soap lubricates very well. I have only come across one other car wash that lubes like this. It also smells great and foams well in the foam gun.
Clay with TC-1 Clay Bar. TC-1 is decent clay. Works similar to most other medium clays and pulled everything off of the paint, even through there wasn't much. TC-6 as a clay lube via the foam gun.
Polish pulled the car back in the garage and tried a few things to polish out any of the light swirls I had. Combo used: TC-8/blue pad on rotary at 1600 rpm. Finished with Optimum polish/white pad speed 6 to take out any holograming from the rotary. TC-8 Swirl Cutter is a great polish that finishes down to LSP ready. It will take out medium to light swirls and will break down great. Wiped down with 1:1 mix of Iso- alcohol for final inspection.
Seal sealed with TC-3 Sealant. One of the few sealants I have used that can deepen the paint and NOT mute the metallic flake at the same time. Most sealants that are used, and subsequently layered, will mute metallic flake with whatever depth is created. TC-3 however, did not do any muting even with two layers applied for even coverage. Only problems I ran into, was applying it while raining. In my garage, the humidity went through the roof, making application a little hard. So when applying, try to avoid the humidity.
Wax waxed with TC-PWAX Carnauba Paste Wax. This wax made the paint very deep and wet looking. Combining a Carnuaba wax with a sealant offers the best of both products, and Tropi-cares combo offers both great looks and protection.
Leather leather was conditioned with TC-11 Premium Leather/Vinyl Conditioner . For the price, this is one of the best leather conditioners I have used. I have never used a multi-purpose conditioner, but had great results similar to $30+ conditioners.
Tires tires were done TC-15 Premium Tire and Rubber Dressing. Water based tire dressings are great for everyday looks since they do not sling like silicon dressings. Looks are a little more dull than a silicone dressing, but not having to deal with slinging is better.
Tropi-care also sent me some TC-MR Mighty Red Degreaser to try. This is some seriously potent stuff. I cut mine 12:1 in water. I used this on wheel wells, wheels and tires. This melted the "crud" and brake dust off of the areas with just on application and a little agitation with a wheel brush.
Questions/Comments are Welcome.
