hey I went to costco today and saw some MF towels in 10 pack for 12.39. The're 14X16 inches in assorted colors. They're sold by Microfiber Limited....THe even list a website, microfiber.org

I don't own any MFs, so I can't compare....i'm waiting for the yosteve birthday order and the neatitems group buy.

If someone else gets a chance to compare these, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Jason ... You happened to ask this question at a particularly bad moment. Just resolved was a 4-day old "senior member" and his incessant, non-stop questions that succeeded in annoying nearly everyone here!

The forum has a fine search mechanism. I just entered (Costco AND MF*) and came up with five or more threads, at least one of which was specific: http://autopia-carport.com/forum/showthread.php3?threadid=6822&highlight=Costco+AND+MF%2A

If, after reading through these threads, should you still have questions, post them and we'll gladly help out

A friend's wife is a vet who uses this thing as a dog hauler. They are getting ready to sell it, and wanted a quick spruce up beforehand. It has about 75k miles on it, so it's seen some use. Plus, there was more dog hair in the hatch than I've ever seen before. The whole thing took about 16 hours, a good 4 of which were just vacuuming the hatch area.

Interior process:

Vacuum
Surf City Garage Dash Away on all surfaces
Folex isolated stains, Megs APC+ with LGM all carpets. Carpets got APC+ 10:1, so did rear mats. Driver and front passenger mats got it 4:1.
Megs Glass Cleaner on inside windows

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the carpets and mats as well as I would have liked. I don't know if it was my technique or the LGM, but these were the best I could do in the time I had. Also, the stains on the driver and front passenger seats were SLOWLY coming out with Spot Shot, so I gave my friend a can to use.

Unfortunately, it was a dreary day for pics. Thanks for looking, and any comments or criticisms are welcome. X_X

I would say that it looks a lot better than it before. I see that you are still battling the elements (i.e. snow lingering). Headlights pop, interior is a huge improvement for not using an extractor. I always dress my running boards on the truck. It just makes the truck tick. Wonderful job!:)

Mike,

Thanks for sharing these pics !!
What a dirty SUV - could be the Poster Child for Having Been "Run Hard and Put Away We"t

I have also used Meguiars D151 on those quick ones and it has never let me down. I think it will always have a place in my supply cabinet.

Your interior work was wow, world class for what you had to work with.

I always use that black pet hair brush to help move the pet hair to one spot, so I can suck it up with the Metrovac and that seems to speed up this process for me. I just saw that exact brush at Petco the other day! :)

Great, great, turn around, I am sure the Client was very, very happy !

Mike,

What a beautiful turn around. That thing was a mess, and you did such a great job of bring her back to life.

Awesome work.

Great job on that muddy beast!

Thanks!

Nice job Mike! Great job on the roof rack mounts!!
Thanks, man. They were looking pretty gnarly!

Thanks Barry. And I thought a silver truck would be easy!

Appreciate the kind words. The LGM works fine for most stuff, but there are times when I could use a true extractor. I'm saving my pennies!

What a mess. Nice save Mike :-B

Thanks Flash. It was a bit dirty, but at least they use an SUV the way God intended!:D

Thank you Dan. I've got that black brush too, think I got it from ADS. For soft hair it works well, but for wire hair, not so much. The way wire hair weaves itself into the carpet makes it sooooo hard to get out. Any tips on that?

Mike,

Oh, it's the wirehaired terrier, etc., with the perfect "recipient" carpet !! I know, its a pain!!!!

Only thing that works for me is the stiffest short bristle brush to dig into the carpet and help lift the hair up and your hardest plastic crevice tool on the vacuum to "scrub" back and forth across the brushed area, hopefully one after the other, so they work together to try to get it out.

The stronger the vacuum the better too. Once you can get the li'l tiny hairs loosened up with the stiff brush, the crevice tool is right there to pull them out.

I pray every day that I never get a black carpeted Toyota or Volkswagen anything that had a white dog living in back !:eek::eek:

LOL, Volkswagen carpet is a nightmare by itself! If it had dog hair in it too, I'd tell them to just burn the car and collect the insurance.

Thanks for the advice, Dan. Hopefully it will be a while before I have to put it to use.
