I had the pleasure of detailing this 2004 Mazda Speed MX5 today. It was fairly dirty, and the last wash was about 4-5 months ago (according to the owner). Sorry, no before shots.
I think it was the color, but I had a hard time finding swirls via Xenon light and Halogen, so I the process was as follows:
Wheels washed with water and CG wheel cleaner
Wash with Optimum No Rinse
Clay with Claymagic and Last Touch as lube
Dry with WW and CG Pro Detailer
Clearkote RMG via Cyclo and Propel Blue pads (x2)
Collinite 845 IW via Cyclo and Cyclo finishing pads (x2)
Removal with PC and Meguiar's MF bonnet (I must be getting lazy...lol)
Final wipe down was with OCW and CG Ultra plush MF
CG Glass Cleaner on glass
PlastX and OCW on Front headlights
Adams VRT on interior and convertible top
CG Trim Gel on Tires
Adams BSG on rims, OCW to wipe off
Adams Carpet cleaner on floor mats, PC with Cyclo brush to clean
Total time: 6 hours
Note: Some of the pictures looked washed out (not sure why) and my batteries died just as I started to take photos (note to self: charge batteries before detail :wall)
Pictures:
Interior (camera washed it out for some reason)
Flakey
Wheels
Far shot
After the clay, the paint just simply didn't need any real polishing, and the owner wanted something durable, so I felt collinite would be the key.
This was my first real detail using the Cyclo, and I must say, I am very impressed with the way it performs. It lays down such a thin layer of product, that I may soon use my PC for tight spots, removal via MF bonnet and carpet cleaning duties.
I did get a chance to drive it after finishing, and I must say, the super charger in that thing winds that engine up!
