2004 Jet Black M3 Ultima'd; hacked by dealer...

I was contacted by M3forum.net forum member migstwo (Harold) and he was wanting to get his M3 polished. He told me that she was in need of some love so we set up a date and today was the day. After I washed the car we looked over it in full sun and it was obvious that some inexperienced hack ran his rotary over it. We pulled it in the garage and after I clayed I began to try out different pads and products. After trying a few different combinations I was getting the best results from Menzerna IP and Orange pad. I went over the whole car twice with Menzerna IP and orange pad and then finished her off with Menzerna 106FF and green pad. Although I did not get the cars paint 100% (it could take another 10 hours of polishing) I believe that I made great improvement and that it is 95% swirl free. I used Ultima PGP for the LSP. Unfortunately after I finished the sun was down behind the house so I could not capture the final look very good! But I am really, really liking Ultima PGP. It takes less than 10 minutes to apply and if you apply thinly you will have no streaking. When we pulled the car out it was much wetter than what is showing in the pictures and was extremely slick. The one thing I like to do after the Ultima has dried is to go over it with Ultima’s detail spray and it seems to sharpen everything up a bit. It was an exterior only detail and took 8 hours.

Enjoy the pics...

EXCELLENT WORK!

EXCELLENT PHOTOS (especially the hood shot with the house in the reflection)

And great shots of "before". Sometimes its hard for me to actually capture all the imperfections.. You did a great job!

Great job on a beautiful car!

For a second I had a feeling of hatred/envy toward you, wearing shorts in January and all. Then I remembered what Texas summers are like. No hard feelings at all! :chuckle:

Terrific Job on that M3 . You did a really superb job. Your photo skills are as good as your detailing . The hood reflection with the house is fantastic

Cheers , Jean Paul
