Car had about 17,000 miles. Unfortunately, the dealer wasn't completely honest to the new owner about the repaint that was performed. He was told the rear bumper was sprayed---it was. Unfortunately, so was the front end, which led to other issues. Whomever did the work sprayed clear coat over road tar :eek3: Short of stripping that clear coat, I was never going to get it off.

The good was that the clear coat they did put down was flat and had very little orange peel. Other than those tar spots they cleared over, the car was in great shape!

Process went something like this:

Wash with Meguiars NXT

Clean tires with simple green and Meguiars APC on the wheels.

Clean wells with simple green.

Clean top and seal with 303 Aerospace.

Clean interior with Meguiars APC cut 1:3.

Vacuum and spot carpet clean as needed.

Dress leather with Meguiars leather conditioner.

Clean windows; inside and out.

Clay bar on paint with Mothers clay and lube

Polish wheels with Meguiars cleaner/wax.

Dress tires with Meguiars extreme shine

Dress wells with Meguiars dressing cut 1:2

On paint: Poorboys 2 and a yellow pad x2

Then Poorboys 1 with an orange pad x 1

Then Poorboys EX with a gray pad x 1

Top with Zaino Z2 and ZFX

Wipe down with Z6 b/t coats and Z8 at the end.

All removed with Cobra microfiber towels.

Polish exhaust tips

PlastiX on head and tail lights

He arrived at my house at 7:30am and I was done a bit before 5pm---long day, but well worth it. Car looks great!

Paint looks great, especially for a yellow. However, and I'm sure others will chime in, the Zaino is meant to go before EX, not after, or else it probably didn't bond properly. Sure looks wet, though.

Awesome job, great S2ks. My 2004 Suzuka is getting it's end-of-winter-monster detail in about two weeks as soon as it stops snowing here in New England!
