A customer of mine called to have his sister's MDX detailed as a present for her. Just wanted a good interior cleaning and the outside detailed. Nothing fancy, one polishing step would be fine.
We started like usual, an ONR wash while using the test Opti-Raser clay sponge.
The paint was typical of an 8-year-old SUV, although less bonded contaminants than I expected. Light to moderate spider swirls and one deeply etched bird bomb on the driver's side C-pillar. All we were doing was one polishing step so I went with Optimum Hyper Polish using an Optimum microfiber cutting pad using my PC 7424 XP on speed 6. I've found that OHP and the MF cutting pad tend to do wonders on Honda/Toyota paints. I was not disappointed at all. Other than a few random RIDS and the bird bomb etching, the paint was about 95% corrected. Very noticeable improvement in depth too.
Here are a few before shots followed by the afters
A couple half 'n half shots, first one the right side is unpolished, second picture, both sides polished
The paint was sealed with Optimum Opti-Seal, the exhaust tips polished with Optimum Metal Polish, tires/fenderwells dressed with Armor All, rubber trim, mud flaps, etc dressed with 3D Trim Protectant.
