I am about to detail my M3 and have a question about engine detail. What would be some items I might want to cover up while cleaning the engine bay?

Yea I read all of those tutorials and article. I was trying to see if anyone has had any problems specifically with the E46 M3. If know one has had any problems with this specific car detailing the engine then I am in luck. I know the alternator is one to look out for.
