I wanted to try Simple Green on Floor Mats so i did it on my drivers side floor mat. I like the idea of using APC for many things and Simple Green can do all of them and it is rather convenient. My finding say that Simple Green can compare well with other APC/carpet cleaners.

They are not perfect but i would have done them twice if it were a customers car. I would have done them twice if i was using a different product as well. :chuckle:

Very good infor, thanks for sharing. Can you tell us what you used to actually clean the mats? (extractor? scrub brushes? etc)

I used a tile scrub brush from Lowes i think, sorry no brand, just a normal carpet brush

Heres my process



Spray with Simple Green

Dwell for 2 min

Tile Brush to agitate

Vacuum

Rub with paper towels (lifts dirt well)

Revacuum

Heres my process



Spray with Simple Green

Dwell for 2 min

Tile Brush to agitate

Vacuum

Rub with paper towels (lifts dirt well)

Revacuum

The only issue with using APCs for carpet, is that it is difficult to completely remove the residue.



It is best to use a low residue, carpet specific chemical, with HOT water extraction.

I did 3 sprays per side, one or two paper towel made it completly dry, it was diluted 10:1
