I think a synthetic is standard on the A4 (a very good synthetic at that) and the leater is an option? This was the way it was on the previous generation. If I remember right Audi has a couple of different leather options and packages. Check your option codes to make sure but common sense says if the two front seats are leather that at least the top portion of the back will be leather.
I have the same car, with the premium package, I'm almost certain all the actual seating surfaces are real leather while the sides of the seats may still be leatherette. Dash is vinyl. If I had to clean the seating surfaces I would try the least aggressive cleaner i have, then move up if it doesn't do the job. I would alwys use Lexol leather cleaner or its equivalent on leather seats. The Audi seats should be real easy to clean though. Let us know how you make out.
Yes, but Audi and BMW both use outstanding materials for this. I use to own a BMW with this and unless you had a BMW with leather next to it was difficult to tell it was not leather. My Brother has two Audi’s with this material and Iam thoroughly impressed, maybe better than the BMW. I think both are better than the leather I use to have in an Acura Integra and the leather in my parents Accord. Both the Acura and Honda (probably the same source) were plastic-like feeling in my opinion and very slick.
thanks guys. I've been using Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner and really like the results. I find it best not to buff out the conditioner, unless you really drowned the leather. Just let it sit in over night or if you can out in the sun for a couple of hours. But I was curious as to the back seat because the texture feels a little different, and if so, I wanted to up the power the Lexol Vinyl conditioner/cleaner. I guess I'll stick with leather products because I'm not about to mix and match and figure out which is which. I guess I'll need to pick up some vinyl protectant for the dash though.
p.s. Audi interior rules! That was my tie breaker between BMW and the A4.
I have an Acura and with their leather seats only the part your butt touches is leather for which I use lexol. Is it OK to use Lexol on the vinyl portion of the seat or should I use 303 or something similar? Thanks.
