Newbie here, so please be easy on me. This is my first post:woohoo: . I found Autopia from shear curiosity and advice, and it is the best place I’ve found!
After seeing the “click and bragsâ€ on here, I quickly became sick and tired of how my car looked like. Thanks guys….lol. Anyway, I’m on my 7th year with my car, a Red 2001 Grand AM GT and it has over 225k kms. It has never been clayed before (I know!!) and it had a lot of swirls.
I picked up the PC7424 and LC pads and some new product with some of my older product (#9 & #26); Scrapped the sponge and discontinued with the cotton towels with all new MF products. This was my 1st time process:
#62 Wash
Meg’s Mild Clay Bar
#83 DACP with Yellow LC
#9 with Orange LC
RMG with White and Black LC
#26
So my morning started with a mishap, but otherwise it was a great day. After washing and claying the car, I dropped my camera (it bounced 4 times and had a slide to home base) but thankfully it still worked. After 8 hours, my work was done. The results were a big improvement from any work I have ever done before. I wish I knew about this earlier!!! I love my PC :waxing
don't tell my wife).

I love the results from the RMG. It made my red punchy and wet, which was my goal. After reviewing my process, I think I should have used something else other than the #9 (maybe #80) with the Orange LC. Also, for the future, I was thinking of scrapping the #9 and picking up a bottle of FPII when polishing with the White LC. Let me know what you think.
