2001 BMW M3, Paint Decon and Correction

RaskyR1

Rasky's Auto Detailing
Justin and I did this one last weekend. The owner was on a tight budget so we chose to go with a 1-step correction that yielded more defect remove vs. optimal gloss...though D300 did finish down very well on this hard clear.

Process:

Wash - Foam bath mixed with CGCW and OPC mixture followed by a wash with CGCW.
Wheels - Sonax FE and various brushes.
Tires - OPC, dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing
Decon - IronX and TarX
Clay - Blackfire Clay with M34 as lube
Paint correction - D300 on the GG6 with Megs MF cutting pads (2 passes in several areas)
Glass - Megs D120
LSP - Blackfire Wet-Diamond

Justin spent some time cleaning up all the jambs

After the decon was all done the paint really came back to life again...it's amazing how much contaminated paint can effect the look of the paint on a car.

Sexy M3! Great work Chad and Justin. I found D300 to be an amazing one-step solution for the Alpine White E46 M3 I did last fall. This car also looks great with the BBS LMs on it.

Very beautiful work here you guys !!!

Nothing prettier than an alpinweiss M3 !

Awesome perfect work - Client had to be beyond thrilled ! :)

Thanks for sharing -

nice work on the bimmer guys. one question on the decon process; did you use iron x spray or the iron x soap gel. i plan to clay then soap gel to make sure its completely free of fallout. whats your opinion.

Thanks guys!

I've only used the IronX spray so can't comment on which is better.

We hit it with IronX, rinsed and dried the car, hit it with TarX, rinsed and dried the car, then we clayed. Paint was pretty clean after IronX and TarX.

Really nice work Chad. The white and those BBS LM wheels look just awesome on what IMHO is the last of the truly good looking M3s (please don't hate me :D)

You did a really nice job making it look fantastic!

Thanks guys!

Great work Rasky, glad to see you posting (hadn't seen you in a while!)

Yeah, sorry man. My FT job has been keeping my pretty busy lately and I've kinda been in a funk too. I browse the boards but haven't been commenting on anything unless it really gets my attention... :violin:

Anything but the best comes from you Chad, awesome work.......:bigups

Angelo put down the crack pipe :lol2:

I think I know what you meant...

Something along the lines of, Chad, your work is always top quality and this M3 was no different, killer job making white crystal clear and dripping wet :bigups
