2001 BMW M3, Paint Decon and Correction

RaskyR1

Rasky's Auto Detailing
Justin and I did this one last weekend. The owner was on a tight budget so we chose to go with a 1-step correction that yielded more defect remove vs. optimal gloss...though D300 did finish down very well on this hard clear.

Process:

Wash - Foam bath mixed with CGCW and OPC mixture followed by a wash with CGCW.

Wheels - Sonax FE and various brushes.

Tires - OPC, dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing

Decon - IronX and TarX

Clay - Blackfire Clay with M34 as lube

Paint correction - D300 on the GG6 with Megs MF cutting pads (2 passes in several areas)

Glass - Megs D120

LSP - Blackfire Wet-Diamond

IronX doing it's thing...

Justin spent some time cleaning up all the jambs

After the decon was all done the paint really came back to life again...it's amazing how much contaminated paint can effect the look of the paint on a car.

Justin has a way of taking pics without me know it....me taping up the trim. Free plug for Optimum! :D

Beautiful job! You can tell a huge difference in a white finish when given the proper prep. Again great work!- Jamie

I am the owner of this car, and i can't tell you how great this car looks in person! these guys spent alot of time on this car and you can tell. I really wish i could of had the interior done as well.. but keeping these cars engines maintained breaks my bank enough lol. They took the time to explain why they are using and what they are using on my car. Detailers in the past would not even give me the time of day for that type of information.

By the way is there anything you recommend that I can use after a wash? Like a spray detailer? I have had z6 z8 in the past and some chemical guys products.

Thanks,

Great work, car came out REAL WELL!

Now onto the car....that M3 is ****ing gorgeous. Not a big fan of bimmers, except the E30 and E36 M3's...but that E46 M3....perfect.

Thanks guys! :)

Thanks Chris! We appreciate the business and we're glad you were happy with how the car turned out.

Z6 and Z8 are two products I actually like of Zaino's, so if you're happy with them they will work fine. Otherwise I can recommend some stuff off-line and get you a deal. ;)

I tell you what man, i've never had a car change in appearance so much with just decon. It literally looked like a whole new car after prep/decon. Rewarding car to work on for sure.

Thanks guys!

Great job on that scratch, I bet the client was impressed. Odd that he owns an M3 but is on a budget...

The owner wasn't planning on being on a budget, but as he posted above, some last minute mechanical work came up which dipped into the money reserved for the detail. ;)

How would that be odd? Used M3s are far from obscenely expensive to pick up these days...

Exactly. I picked up mine ('04) for less than the price of a heavily optioned Honda Accord. Enjoyed it for 3 years, and sold it for not much less than I bought it for.
