Wonderful, I recently did one, I think the same year, in dark navy. I had to do a bunch of spot sanding with a 2000grit block. M101 also works great on the deeper stuff, although I find this paint to be kind of stubborn in a weird sort of way that's difficult to describe.( Maybe that is how navy is compared to red?) Yeah, this paint responds well to Menz as your final polish. I used IW 845 as the LSP, nice and deep. Great work :up

Thanks guys. Just to say, this was the absolute softest paint I ever worked with. After the wash I used a Nanoskin fine towel and it marred like crazy. I then switched to ClayMagic fine; same thing. The use of the Opti MF pad and D300 was done with little to no downward pressure. Just the weight of the machine. And frankly, it finished out so nice I was tempted to skip the Menz.

Hmm..I found the dark navy paint to be harder than, say my Honda paint, or the paint on a late 90's BMW of a similar color that I once worked on. It didn't mar easily, but correcting existing RIDS took a little bit of time. Funny how there can be much variation from paint color to paint color.

GOODNESS that paint was butchered holy crap!

Looks great, excellent work. That is a tremendous improvement, I am sure the owner will be blown away, especially given how bad this car was.

I have always been very fond of the 2000-2001 911's with the non-turbo headlights and the factory aerodynamics package, favorite Porsche of all time (to bad their slow :().
