Not a neglected car, but obviously no stranger to the automatic carwash. This 2000 Carrera needed a good buff to remove 5 years of wash swirls. A thorough buff with Meg's SFP (Edge Blue Foam) at 1500 RPM's took car of the swirls, and a final pass with #9 (Edge white foam) seamed to really finesse the finish back for a coat of UPP, and an EZ Paste topper.
The Carrera emblem on the back had to be removed with a heat gun a scraper and some New Car Solvent to remove the residual adhesive.
SFP is aggressive enough to remove most wash swirls, but it must be worked thoroughly to adquately buffer the abrasives. Failure to work this product long enough will leave behind buffer swirls that will be evident once in direct sunlight.
The paint was a very dark metalic blue, and although I do not know the name of the color, it would definitely be a top choice of mine if in the market for a Porsche !!!

great work. You should see my friends 03 rsx. its silver, but soo cloudy and no reflection. a lot worse than that carrera. He always dried it with a bathroom towel. good job again. Now if dave and i could just get cars like that down here we'll be set, but because of the weather its kind of hard to detail.

It truly is hard to believe that that body style is five years old already (or is it even older?)! Anyway, great cleanup!

I may have to revisit SFP. I have soo much of it and after all, it was my first successful swirl remover. It proved to do that Porsche right! The tail looks SOO much cleaner without the badging
...How much extra do you charge for something like that?

Holyghostfilled... I finished with #9 after SFP only on black and very dark colors. SFP can tend to leave a minute amount of buffer swirls if not entire worked on dark finishes. Unfortunately you will not discover this until you place the car in different lighting. I conquered this problem by taking an extra step on darker finishes with #9. The entire car is buffed with a white finishing pad at about 1400-1700 rpms. The paint is near flawless after this final step.
GSRstilez... The entire process takes about 20 to 30 minutes. I would charge in the $40 to $50 dollar range for this service. This customer is a regular, and my favorite customer. I detail his cars at a flat rate (he pays very well) and will do extra detailing services (within reason) at that rate.
Fr0zen, The Woob and Bigron62... Thanks guys !!! The badging is being replaced OEM as of this writing. I am glad to see some familiar old school DC'ers still on the board. I miss a lot of the old DC contributers !!!

I love this truck !!! It handles like a sports car and it very quick and responsive. The seats are very comfortable, and the truck really gets a lot of attention.
Downside... I wish the bed was a bit deeper.Before I put about 500 lbs of equipment in the back she was horrible in the snow. The weight helped out quite a bit. You would not have to worry about that
BTW... My wife hates the truck.

You got a new truck clean dean. ? Post some pictures.. I would post if I had stuff to post but I havent detailed since september the weather here has been blah. I just go thru the amaco ultimate wash it was touchless till jus yesterday i found they changed it to some sort of synthetic (not brush or bristle) but chamois type material. I went thru it anyway paid $8 so what the heck. Did notice any immeditate swirls, But I plan on compounding in the spring anway.
