2000 Porsche 911

Got this one in today to detail, a friend of mine asked me to do her car, so I was very happy to do it.. Didnt get any befores because I wanted to finish this in a day, but this cars exterior was dirty! Wheels were dark, paint wasnt shiny, just all around it was a Porsche that could use some loving! The car was dropped off at 9:30 and was done by 6:30 or so.



The process: Washed it with Meguiars # 62 with a cap full of Optimum no Rinse. Wheels were cleaned with Meguiars Wheel Brightener on the inside and the face was washed with Adams Car wash and a wheel face brush. The wheel wells were cleaned with Meguiars APC and dressed with Megs Hyper Dressing. As far as the paint, I started out with Meguiars #80 Speed glaze on a polishing pad but it just didnt cut it (left micromarring), so I tried using just 3m's ultrafina pad and polish and it just wasnt cutting the heavier stuff. So i took out the Meguiars #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish and a w8006 polishing pad with my dewalt rotary. Followed that up with the 3m ultrafina polish and pad. Then topped that with Meguiars #7 Show car Glaze and finally a layer of S100 wax.

Although I am a fan of debadging, that is one car I wouldn't debadge. The badging on the back of the 911s looks classy, without it the back looks unfinished or like it's missing something.

The wing actually was polished by hand around the intricate areas. No way was i going to touch it with a machine and worry about burning something.

any problems with sling ?

Hyper Dressing is awesome. IN those pics it was diluted around 8-10:1 ratio or something. At that low of a ratio, i havent had any sling problems, but because of the low dilution it doesnt last as long.
