This car was one pain in the butt. It took me nearly three days to complete the detail since it was swirled and marred beyond belief. The car spent its life outside and went through countless machine washes. I am happy with the end result though.

Detail:

Dawn wash

Claybar

3M PI II RC with PC and yellow pad

1Z PP with PC and white pad

1Z GW by hand

P21S Carnauba

1Z GW lays down an awesome long lasting protective layer, but you just can't beat the depth and richness of P21S on top of black!

Is it just me or does the Benz family have (and had) the best looking black paint job on the market?

Good job.
I was wondering if anyone noticed this. I think Mercedes, Cadillac, and Audi have the best black paint. Nice job on the car! I really like the last pic.

I think Scottwax has demonstrated that RR/Bentley Black is best, what with 12 layers, hand rubbed between each........

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I thought you all would like it!

Looks great :xyxthumbs Would have liked to have seen the results with just the 1Z GW.

The results with just the GW don't differ much from what you see here. The reflections were the same, which actually made it look a little "tinny" and not quite rich enough so I opted to top with some carnauba. Doing this car made me decide to always top black with carnauba as it definitely adds to the overall look. The only reason I used GW was for the durability. Down here in New Orleans, 95 degrees and 75% humidity weather is quite common and pure wax just doesn't hold up as good as you would like so the added protection is a must.
