2000 Dropped Silverado on 20" Chromies.

Awesome job Buick Guy... hehe. I'm just so amazed and what you did to that truck. It said swirl city all over that truck.

So are you going to move up to the cyclo or rotary? The cyclo looks just weird and bulky to me...

ScubaStevo,

Beautiful job on that truck. CAn I ask what speeds you run your PC at? Do you use different speeds for different tasks or leave it at the same speed?

I use 6 for everything. Breaks everything down to a nice mild polish that way. My pads don't load up as quick then either.

As far as a cyclo or rotary, I'd think about it if I had insurance, but I just bought this PC last month.

Great job on that truck !!! It looks like it wash washed regularly with 00 Steel Wool !!! You must have 20" arms and a lot of patience to bring back that finish with a PC !!! Unbelievable !!!

Huge improvement! After all these years though, I can never understand why people let their paint get that bad before they decide to do something about it. :nixweiss

They all say "Oh it really needs a repaint, but I wanted to bring it to you so you can make it look decent in the mean time." Then they walk up, "holy ****! You just saved me 5 grand"

Scott,

Some people don't even see the "swirls".

My mother in law bought an Alero 2-years back and it was detailed nicely. Now, it's swirled heavily with more bonded junk than you can imagine and yet, they think it looks great! They live in another city and I've been way too busy this year to ever consider a detail for them but most people don't even know.

I can't believe the number of cars at car shows (blacknights here in Toronto) that are swirled! People have just gotten used to seeing them sooo much now that it's like a non issue for them.

I can't get myself to beleive that you did that with a PC!!!! WOW!!!! I have been going at the swirls on my Audi for days and it looks nowhere near that good. You did the whole job in less than 5 hours.

How much of the swirling still remaining was hid by the NXT? I used a PC on a 98 Ranger with horrible swirls, and it took *some* of them out. I used NXT on it afterwards, and it hid them somewhat.

A good sealant can go a long way to cover whatever a PC leaves behind. This isn't to say that this is the case here, especially if the clear was soft and easy to work with. Your "during" picture says it all! :xyxthumbs

My work is always no frills, not gimmicks. The surface looked like that before sealing. I've never had good luck with NXT covering up swirls.
