2000 Civic Oil change help

I have to disagree. VTEC's are known to burn a little oil while VTEC is engaged. Combine that with the fact that Mobil 1 5w30 is on the thin side of a 30 weight and usually shears back to a 20 weight after 1000-1500 miles means that a car "in VTEC" is going to burn oil more easily.

my mother has a 2000 civic with over 100k miles and my experience with hondas is they burn oil especially over 100k miles. fwiw I use valvoline maxlife full synthetic. last I knew it was group IV base stock meaning pure synthetic. it gets high praise on bob is the oil guy and works for her application.
