2000 Anthractite E39 M5

Another E39 to add to the collection. Another beautiful one at that as well. The paint was a pain to correct, and it had itself some nice deep rids, plenty of water spots, and of course the swirls. The car came out great I think, the only downer was the trunk had some deep scratches that I couldn't safely remove, but of course are not visible unless you have light hit it at a very big angle. Apart from that it came pretty good.



Body:

Wash: Meguiars Gold Class

Dry: Compressed air, followed by waffle weave microfiber towel

Clay: Clay Magic Blue



Polish:

Optimum Hyper Compound - LC Orange @1700rpm

Optimum Polish - LC White @ 1200rpm



Layers:

Klasse AIO on entire car

Black Ice Reflection

Black Ice Thunder

P21s 100%



Wheels and Tires:

Wheels: Wheel brightener 4:1

Tires and wheel bay: APC 7:1 toped with Meguiars High Performance Gel

Klasse AIO



Treated windows with Klasse AIO.

amazing job. Looks like OP and black ice will make for an amazing duo. Can't wait to receive my set in the mail! You've completely restored my faith in OP. Great stuff.

Optimum if thats what I think your saying by OP is a great company indeed. The compounds/polishes dont cut as quickly or as aggresivly as other compounds, but you do make up for it in unlimited working time, zero dusting, and pretty much the creativity to just about anything with it. The finish is usually up to you how you want it.



I have found recently that working it down to practically no residue is the best, it takes a bit longer the normal, but I feel my results get a lot more of a deep healthy glow.
 
Oh yes, most definitely. OP = Optimum Polish. I think my only weakness is working with oversized pads which I hope to resolve within the next few days. I agree with what you said. OP works well based on the type of pad used and time spent working it in.

Also, I've never really had a true LSP process. Judging by your pics, this new Black Ice Trio will work as a perfect LSP.

Yes, optimum is indeed good stuff. Although I am going to step away from them (I will still have their product on me for backup) but I am moving to 1Z einszett pro line compounds/polishes/glazes. Trying to try something different. Everyone seems to be sticking with Menzerna which is proven to be a great company but I just want to discover other things as well so I will definetly be doing lots of work and showing how the products work.



I like being flexible with the Black Ice products, and I get creative with them mixing in different waxes with them.

I will say one thing about this car, the noise combined with the insane pull this car gives makes just makes about any drive that much more fun.
