2 0unces of SuperSlick and Suds

rabbi

The Whaler Loves Detail City
in a five gallon bucket leaves me wondering why I need a foam gun.I filled my 5 gallon bucket up with 2 1/2 gallons of water yesterday. Then I blasted the solution with a hard jet stream of water. The suds eruptly immediately overflowing the bucket. After I soaked down the car I began to wash the car using a lambskin mitt. There was so much foam/suds on my car and the mitt glided over the paint. Before I rinsed the car off I was wondering why I would ever need a foam gun as the car was covered in suds.I have used as little as a 1/4 ounce of SuperSlick in the past.Since the car had salt on it I decided to go with 2 ounces. The suds rinsed off easliy enough leaving no residue. When I did the final no nozzle flush the water just sheeted off the car and I was left with very little standing water. After drying with a Poorboy's WaffleWeave I was left with a very clean and shiney automobile. I had to put another coat of Natty's Blue on which I did. The car is a deep wet pool of darl green metallic. My question to all the foam gun users is this. If you still use a mitt or whatever to go over your car after using the foam gun what is the advantage of such gun?

Rick all I can say is that you have to try one to really see.

It's sort of like if you've never used a pc and have great smooth looking cars, but find out you could have done the same work much with less effort, so you'd have time to put an extra coat of wax on;)

The difference is that the foam is on the truck. Not in the pail. Nothing but clean slick suds to help wash away the dirt that has accumulated. It is true that your wash mitt needs to be rinsed but the soap that is introduced is never compromised by any dirt.

Well as Mr. Poorboy said the only to know is to try it myself.Thank you for your responses.

(A little embarassed to ask)

Is one ounce the size of the cap on the SS & Suds bottle? Whats the easiest way to measure out the ounces?

I've always wondered this... lol.

I use a "dedicated" shot glass (can't be serving up foamy drinks  ), while others have used the measuring caps from bottles of cough syrup, etc.
I don't think the capful gives an accurate 1 oz. measure.

Steve any chance on a water softener system because my SS&S is weak with hard water. ? I keep having to use my Adams Car wash & i dont want to send the SS&S for other purposes .

I will contact the chemist and ask if he has a product that can be added to hard water other than using a softener sytem. The only system that will really work and be cost efficient over a long period of time would cost a thousand or more...I'll get back to you.

According to this the new Optimum No Rinse Wash can be used as a water softener.

I saw a great trick for a cheap measuring device on Mike Philips' website.

1. Measure out 2 oz. of water in a measuring cup
2. Pour the water in a plastic cup
3. Use a permanent marker to mark the water line in the cup

Voila!! Instant, re-usable measuring cup. Also, I think a standard shot glass is 4 oz.

I found a shot glass sized measuring cup at Kitchen Etc. years ago. It measures ounces and is quite handy.

My 2 ounces of Superslick thread has been hijacked by shotglass measurements. Now aren't you all ashamed of yourselves? You should be!
