1Z vs Menzerna

Surprised to see 1z is available again..

It never completely went away, they just scaled back their distribution network and (as best I can tell) discontinued/reformulated a few of their overlapping polishes.

Nice to see you posting :wavey

I *really* doubt that somebody's gonna think they bought *too* aggressive products for use when doing significant correction on an Audi, let alone by PC. I just can't *imagine* doing a good job in a timely manner with pads larger than 4". And it's not like I'm not used to spending many hours on this stuff (well, before getting the rotaries/Flex 3401 and stuff like M105 ;) and even then it doesn't go fast).

Wish I could get it to do that cutting you guys always experience; on my

Audis and the m3 and GMC it just doesn't do much of any correction for me, strictly a finishing polish IME and that really makes me  I oughta try it on the Mazda or something else soft but you have me nervous about trying that (visions of going from one extreme to the other).

Anyhow I'm glad I don't work on those stupid-soft clears (FPII is still the best bet for those, right?) and if you think 1Z HG works great by PC you oughta try it via Cyclo ;)

Hmm, red pads huh? Think I'd notice/appreciate a diff between those any my Sonus blue finishing pads? I'm not sure what I can get in 4" anyhow...

Oh, for sure... I didn't mean to insinuate that at all... Personally, I wouldn't even attempt an Audi with a DA type buffer at all. I've only done two Audi's, but they had the very hardest paint I've ever run across. However, if I *were* going to attempt it with a PC, i'd recommend the stuff from my previous post; I think it's about the most aggressive combo you can get for a PC. Even then, it's gonna make for a long day. :)

SuperBee364- I didn't direct that "aggressiveness of PC" thing at you ;)

But yeah...spot-correction is one thing, but doing a whole Audi to a nice standard via PC would be a real chore. I say "would be" because I simply never got a marred-up one the way I wanted it via PC/Cyclo.

But OTOH I wasn't doing it with the 3.5" PFW pads and M105 either. That'd do the job, but man would it take a long time. Heh heh, "a long day" would only get a few panels done to my satisfaction ;) but then I spend days on Audis even with the rotaries :nixweiss

I've yet to do a direct comparison so I can't really say whether or not that's true. Have you used both? On hard paint? I've used IP on just about everything and it works just fine for me, and I've used SIP on both hard and soft paint but I honestly couldn't tell you the difference between the two.

Yep, on Merc Ceramiclear. I got the same results on a Murcie as well. I didn't realize Lambo paint was that hard. It's not night and day, but SIP is well worth the price difference over IP. IME at least. I use a rotary though, so I don't know if it would be the same for a PC. This is just my opinion, others may feel differently.
