1Z UPP vs. DACP (#83) with PC

Both of these products are on the way, along with my PC. My question is about the cutting strength of these two products. Where would you rank them in terms of cutting power?

Also, if you apply #83 with a cutting pad, then go a second time around with a polishing pad, could you go right to a very mild PW Cleanser like Sonus PWC or AIO? Or should there be a step in between?

Thanks!:bow

I do not know about UPP, but have had lots of time w/ dacp and i will tell you what i know.

Dacp works wonders on swirls/minor scratches. Use w/ a cutting pad on speed 5.5 to 6. Work until product begins to dust but no longer. Remove excess product from panel and then examine, it sometimes takes a few passes to fully remove swirls. There might also be light hazing from the product, you will need a less aggressive polish to remove the hazing, which i dont believe a paintwork cleanser would remove that hazing, you can try dacp on a polishing pad to remove any hazing that it left behind but if that doesnt work you will need to step down to a swirl remover type product. This is my own experiences w/ dacp, take it for what its worth

The 1Z UPP is about one step up (more agressive) than #83.

If I use #83 on an orange pad and then follow up with a polish pad it sometimes leaves the finish pretty nice. Other times I follow up with #80 after #83. Just inspect your finish very closely after #83 to see if another step is needed.

Not sure about the PWC, but AIO is basically a chemical rather than an abrasive cleaner.

That sounds about right. Perhaps I'll try it, but make sure I have some #80 standing by just in case. Or I could go with my 1Z PP. I think both would probably work to get the hazing out before PWC or AIO.

I placed a huge order today from David, but neglected to get a Megs product to go along with #83.

1Z UPP is more abrasive than DACP. You will have to follow with something milder after using UPP because it induces its own micromarring. DACP ought to do ok as a follow up to UPP

Thanks EN. The only reason I ask is that I was told a while back that AIO and PWC were pretty much the "same strength" and that using both would be redundant. Perhaps I've been misinformed :nixweiss

Thanks Bill. I also have 1Z PP on the way, so that should do the trick if I need something even finer.

BTW - Nice product selection on the driveway! I'm on my way there! My New Products :)

Youre gonna like the 1zPP :up First thing I reach for if Menzerna FP can't do the job

Glad to see the collection growing :D
