1Z UPP and 1ZPP

Hey, just got back from working on a mar on my Caddy's trunk. Standard routine until I have the courage to use the rotary is using a PC, UPP with a *wool* :scared: pad, about 2 times, then followed with PP using a Lake Country white pad. Still, some of the mar left behind  ( I dealt with the whole trunk and hood about 2 months ago, 4 hrs each ,same result  ) Concentrating on this single mar took about a half hour not counting applying LSPs

Try going to PP with a yellow pad and then a white pad.

Tried that the other day and the times when I went over the entire hood and trunk, I waited till today to tackle marring again, made no difference with the yellow pad in this isolated situation ( the Audi, yeah, you absolutely must use a yellow pad and then white pad for any more-than-very light marring), so I just went with the white pad since I have more of them. A large shipment of yellow pads will be here probably in mid July,he he, tack on at least another 15 mins for that I bet next time I go at it.:o

andriver- Bill has some kind of freaky, super-hard clear on his Cadillac. It's even harder than today's Audi clear, and that's saying something!

Bill D.- If I'm reading you right, you're still working the Caddy's trunklid with the PC...if so, I honestly think you oughta bite the bullet and use the rotary on it. Repeatedly using stuff like UP with the PC can often be *harder* on the paint than using it (carefully) with the rotary. If only because you end up working it more, especially with the measures you have to take to remove the not-so micromarring. And the UP takes longer to break down by PC, even though it's not really doing the cutting that the job requires. Sorta the worst of both worlds ;)

Agh, and you know I never would have done any polising at all if I would just learn to not look for angles to view the paint with :o. I was preparing to put the car away in the garage after an afternoon of draining the coolant and I spotted that marring and well, you know the rest of the story:o. Yeah, rotary time next time I want to do something other than actually drive the car :o

well all i can say is the UPP and PP took out heavy sand marks out, i didnt a little to much in some spots but it took them out just fine.

on my hood it is still scratch city but i dont care right now, my car is soo smooth and shiny, well my moms that is, its gonna be mine soon, u just gota learn to live with what u got!

Yeah, 1z polishes are quite effective in most situations. On my Audi MP with a PC with polishing pad alone can eliminate *some* minor micromarring and often PP followed by MP with the PC can eliminate a little bit more severe swirls even though it takes a *long* time to do it
