1Z Metallic Polish is safe for paint work????

The Audi doesn't need it but I bought it last year for my 15 year old Caddy; with a PC it couldn't do anything for it :( I believe it when they say it's really for rotary use only. One of these days I'll feel confident enough to use the rotary on it. In fact, the IP will probably be one of the first polishes I'll use.

I thought outgassing had been renedered a non issue with the new paints used these days due to environmental concerns.

The outgassing still takes place and the paint still needs to cure via this process to attain it's maximum (potential) hardness.

It's not like the paint will come off in sheets, cloud up, or otherwise suffer some catastrophic failure, but it probably won't be as durable as it could be either.

If it were *my* car, I'd remove the MP since it's only been on there for a few days, but then I tend to err on the side of caution.

I should always make the disclaimer that this older Cadillac clear seems to be as hard of a clear as they come.
