1Z Glanz Wax 'New Formula'

Wow looks like Glanz is a winner from all these posts. If it looks anything like TS on my black car, I think TS will be going up on the trading post. I love the look but durability isn't too high, compared to a sealant that is.

I have the old version and used it for the first time a couple of months ago.

I made the mistake of letting sit a while before removing. I didn't realise it's meant to sit for only a few minutes. Needless to say, it was difficult to remove. My bad.

I was astonished at the look it gave. Unlike a sealant - darkened my black and made it really warm looking. Couldn't believe it.

Every 1Z product I've ever tried seems to be 'best-in-class'. Very under-rated product line. :bigups

Instead of Metallic Polish which gives an understated look to it try 1Z Paint Polish in the green can. It will leave a brighter finish and make the Glanz Wax have a bit more pop which it kinda needs since it is a muted look anyway.

On many paints, I find that I need to use the MP/WPS/etc. as a finishing polish after the PP. On Audi silver, the improvement is quite noticable. PP is good stuff (and I recommend it all the time, best newbie-polish out there IMO), but it seldom takes my paint to the good-enough point.

I used the 1Z Glanz wax a week ago (with the new pink colored formula). I needed a wax/sealant that would last longer, especially in the winter time. I liked it because it is a straightforward process, easy on/off. Just make sure you wipe off the trim immediately when you accidentally put some.

I also put some on my wheels so that brake dust wouldn't stick to the rims as much.

One of the differences between old and new Glanz is the newer version is thicker. Don't know about any changes to the formulation content wise, other than what Patrick mentioned.

IMHO, all IZ products are very good. I especially like the Kima Klean for AC systems. Works very well

I have tons of the old version; I love it! It's easy to use, very economical, leaves a fantastic wet gloss and lasts at least 4 months (or longer) - it must be the most underated sealant on this forum.

In my experience, though, one other nice point is that, even though it dries almost instantly, you can do the whole car and then wipe it off after. I've never experienced the above problem.:nixweiss

JuneBug where in NC. do you live , Im in Advance. I have the Glanz and Metallic Polish Wax. When i first got 1Z i did't care much for it. Now i love it. PM me and i'll let you try some.

How do you apply it? When I did that it was quite difficult to remove. I guess I applied it too thick.

I personally did not like the new version Glanz wax I tried. I used it over 1Z PP and it was greasy and smeared for me. Not sure if I did something wrong, but it sure wasn't all I expected it to be.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but don't expect much durability out of it. I got like 2 months tops in the summer. 4 months is complete bs imo.

That's interesting, first negative experience I've heard of this wax or the older formula. Was the surface completely dead after 2 months (no beading) or what?

Hey Johnny - for the price, I'm ordering it - one negative review is just that - one.

Ya I agree with you. I've bought products in the past based on glowing reviews and had bad experiences and vice versa. Your own experience is the best indicator of how well or bad a product does.

I have a Lexus ES330 coming up this weekend (in 20 degree weather nonetheless), and will be breaking from tradition of using FMJ (x2) for my winter lsp. I'm going to hit it with some Glanz instead. Couple of weeks ago, my dad borrowed my can to do his Jag XKR Portfolio, and he had me order another can for him and one for his neighbor buddy. These guys are both retired and think they can't get enough wax on the car. That's another story...

He went on to do my mom's car and his SUV with my can of Glanz. Needless to say I ended up ordering another can for myself as well.
