1st real detail job

2morrow i am going to detail my girlfriends moms Ford Minivan. She said she just wants a quick detail. So i am going to:

-Wash with M Gold Class Car Wash

-Wax with EO Carnauba. (its all i have at the moment)

-Dress Tires with High Endurance

-back 2 black on trim

-Interior windows and dash. (i cant vaccum because they dont have one i can use. and i dont have one that will work on the van.



i am assuming i will get about 20-30 bucks for this. Which i think is good. since when i do my moms i get 15. I know i should use all these steps like the AIO or Cleaners. but im just using what i have in supply
 
Hey, nuthin wrong with charging family. Its not really charging when an Autopian does your car for $15 bucks anyway. I get tips larger than that for doing peoples' cars. lol :p When my mother saw what kind of attention to detail I had for her car and the quality of products I was using she would force me to take money. It was only like $20 bucks, but it made her feel like she wasn't using me or anything like that. Who can understand family anyway...? :nixweiss
 
make her? hah, thats how i earn my lunch money weekly. lol. im only 16.

When i just wash it i do it for free. its when i polish and wax that she pays. i probably spend more than 15 dollars worth of product on her Tahoe monthly. lol.
 
haha, My parents would never pay me to wash the cars... but they are always there if I need extra money for any reason.



I don't mind, my dad's company car ('01 Grand Prix) is for testing new products on.



Back on topic, what I always do with family is see how much they are willing to pay and go from that. I detail my girlfriends mom's Lexus all the time (Im 16 as well) and I get $40, that whole $40 is a tip though.... because I never said she had to pay anything.
 
Ok, i got 40 bucks. Wow.. lol. they asked my rates. So i said 5 bucks a car for wash wax. by hand. The van and z3 turned out graet. but the dark green on the van turned out beautiful. my girlfriends mom litterally lost her breath when she looked at it. (i dont think it has EVER been washed. its a 2000.) :-) im very proud of the work. and i think ill use the 40 bucks for some P21s. Since im out of wax now.:xyxthumbs
