Hi everyone

I decided to give my car a detail yesterday and it was the first time using a orbit polisher ( Makita BO6040 ) and all i can say is WOW , ive had the makita sitting in the garage for about 2 months (un-used) , i suppose i was plucking up the courage to use it :p , but since i joined the autopia forums ive learned so much i was confident to use it , i started on a slow speed so i could see how it handled and try and get a technique/rythem , i always kept the pad moving on its own weight as im aware it will heat up the surface quickly, so thats the first thing that was stuck in my mind lol :p , Im very impressed with the results , there is no doubt ill be using it again as it takes alot off the wrists and get awsome results.

The Car:- BMW 316i Saloon , Boston Green , 17" Style 42 BMW Split Rims, Reiger side skirts, Reiger Front Splitter, Hella Boot Spoiler, B&M F1 Air Filter, ACS/PowerFlow Exhaust. Car has just turned 142,000miles and drives superb.

The products i used were the following:-

Wash- Meg's Gold Class Car

Clay- Meg's Quick Clay

3m Imperial Glaze - used a Farecla G Mop Polishing Pad

Wax- Meg's Cleaner Wax ( Paste )

took 4hrs with interior clean aswell,

Heres the results :-

I cant wait to try more products with the polisher

Thx for viewing and thx for this forum!

Looks good. Gotta love the E36's. I would suggest a nice drop, the front spoiler makes it look lower, so the rest of the car needs to look the same IMO.

Very Nice Bimmer. I love the Boston Green color and your mods are very tasteful. The detail looks like it came out great!

Post more pics at will :D. How about some more full shots and tail end shots?

thx for the replys guys!

PK1- I used MEg's endurance tyre gloss ( the purple gel :D ) last ages and gives the nicest look ive seen , i used to use them spray cans but thats defintly a NO NO from now on.

Ill get more pics up ASAP

beautiful! so shiny! but those door handles....i don't know...i think they should be the color of the car.

very nicely done though! :)

Don't you just LOVE power tools! Great first effort. I'd hate to compete against your efforts a year from now!
