Ihave not been able to play with it has been rainy so I got to detail it. I must say the dealer prep ws good very little marring at all. One spot I had to hand buuf with some perfect it and then some swirl remover but all in all it was superb. Very little orange peel as well in this color. The polished wheels are very milky close up :sadwavey: . just the way they are made( the supplier for gm just went out of business). It did not need clay the finish was very smooth. So I just washed it with some nxt wash in the foam gun. The aio( which did pick up some gunk) then 2 layers of sg. some ragtopp on the top. Once the sg cures I will put some souvrain on and take some pics on a sunny day.

Are you sure that it doesn't need to be clayed? They could have prepped it with some glaze that smoothed it out.

the aio would have removed it any glaze afaik they use perfect it prior to shipment. The car is glass smooth. I will clay it this spring when I do the summer prep.

Very nice!! Are the stock wheels polished? are they clear coated?

They are the polished wheels and yes they are clearcoated. Looks great until you get close up. The corvette group has had issues with them. At this point I think they look great. If I wanted better wheels HRE start at 4500( bleah) and in point of fact the supplier is bankrupt so the wheels are not going to be made anymore.

Thanks for the accolades There was no real prep needed since the car is so new. I will post again in a few days with the souvrain on it. David

Looks great. Hard to beat a clean red 'Vette. I really like the swoopy, edgy lines on the C6. I actually prefer the looks of the C6 to the C5 now.

eagle eyes. My neighbor downthe block owns about 5 or 6 vettes including a 53 57 with fuelinjection a split window coupe and a 67 427 tripower convertible. Another guy has a viper and a vette and a hummer.

Congrats on the Z51...she's a beauty!!!

I can't believe your Supra is gone though...that was one of cleanest and more tasefully modded TT's out there.

Sounds like my kind of neighborhood. Are you going to leave the new GM plaque on or remove it? I've heard it's adhered with double sided tape.

I am uncertain about the GM badge, site unseen I was going to remove it but on the car. I don't know it adds a little something. For now it stays I can always remove it later.

Thanks for the kind words on the supra, i thought long and hard about selling it. I loved that car and had her since 93. At the end of the day I thought it was time to move on. I like most american car guys love vettes when I was young then GM moved in directions that i was not happy with. the new car is world class not only in performance but the fit and finish is as good as anything else out there. I always wanted a big V8 and the torque even with having to baby it for break in is great.

I'm happy for you yours came with good paint! At a recent car show I attended one of the guys brought his new black Z06, and I was appalled at the quality of the paint. It had factory stock orange peel, on a 70k car...
