I decided to put what i've learned from all you guys to good use.

Oh my, what an experence this was, and I made sure to take pictures along the way.

It's 7 years old, and it's first 5 has seen many an automatic carwash (previous owner) and last year was treated to some turtle wax (i didnt know any better!)

Being a low-end Chrysler product, it seems the paint has quite a bit of orange peel. Some of the pictures of my trunk are quite disturbing!

alright..

Before i started:

Well it was quite a good experience.. I definetly love my PC even for a newbie it was great to use. I find myself staring at the car ever time i walk by.. i've never seen it this reflective!

Hmm so next weekend I'll tackle the g/f's black 1990 Pontiac, it will be interesting to see how the 12 year old factory paint has stood up to Canadian winters.

Thanks to the Autopians for all their help / info.. If it wasnt for you guys (and jngrbrdmn :up who pointed me in this direction) I would have spend my saturday with my bottle of TW color cure :scared

Really nice paint job man, I never knew a Dodge could look like that. Nice work :up

Not trying to bash your job or anything but what's with those white spots in the rear of your car in the second final picture? I have those spots on the front of my car because of rock chips. Is it just dust or something?

WOW, I am definitely getting the Porter Cable now, nice job man, that is a real impressive transformation!

Thanks guys.. It means alot for guys like you to say that :)

Hmm those spots are not there now.. must have been some lint or a reflection of stuff on the neighbours lawn, although the car does have its share of stone chips, which i'll attempt to repair soon

:D

The PC is definitely worth its wieght in gold! :xyxthumbs

I also did my first job on my mom's 98 dark taurus and had very similar results and is very easy to use. The PC saves time and materials. I can't believe I have gone this long with out one.

I would have taken pictures but it was raining when I did the car.

WeinerXXX, great job and love the before and after pics. :bow

That looks awesome dude!! :bow WOW! Awesome job! And what a swell banner you have on your window. :D Thanks for representing and that was a great job you did! Be proud of that sucker!

i am no expert.. but you'll find it very easy to work with thats for sure, just make sure you mask everything up you dont want to end up with polish on.. i missed a few things and now the smr has turned white and I have to clean it up :(

thats my only gripe.. which is my own fault anyway..

Has anyone said anything about it yet? Have you taken it to any meets to make people drool? Are you on the list for Klasse when I come up in a month? :) I still think that is an amazing job! :xyxthumbs

hehe yes, i've heard some good comments! friends just driving towards my house notice it right away as being very black as opposed to the darkish dull grey it was.. and no im not on your list for klasse, as I have my own from CMA :D

although tonight or sunday im gonna try the whole process on the black '90 pontiac.. the clay has already worked wonders on removing tons of old white overspray.
